Canadian Nursing Informatics Association (CNIA)
The voice for Nursing Informatics in Canada. The CNIA is the culmination of efforts to catalyze the emergence of a new national association of nurse informaticians

 The Canadian Organization for Advancement of Computers in Health (COACH)

COACH, is in the forefront of the Canadian healthcare information resource and technology field by working cooperatively with health institutions, professions, associations, consultants, vendors of information technology and applications, government and regulatory organizations in the pursuit of its mandate.

Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)

CNA’s mission is to advance the quality of nursing in the interest of the public. The Canadian Nurses Association is a federation of 11 provincial and territorial nursing associations representing more than 116,000 registered nurses. The CNIA is an affiliate member of the CNA.

Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS)
Founded in 1958, CIPS represents more than 8,000 Information Technology (IT) Professionals in 30 cities across Canada. They invite Members and non-Members alike to use the CIPS National site as a primary resource for information and news about CIPS and IT-related issues.

Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI)

CIHI is an independent, pan-Canadian, not-for-profit organization working to improve the health of Canadians and the health care system by providing quality, reliable and timely health information.

Canadian Telehealth Forum
First Canadian non-profit health association devoted to Telehealth. We promote all aspects of telehealth -- the use of communication and information technologies to deliver health care over large and small distances.

Manitoba Nursing Informatics Association  

The Manitoba Nursing Informatics Association has a visible presence and is a recognized organization within the nursing profession in Manitoba. The MNIA provides leadership in informatics, educational opportunities and a networking forum for its members.

National Institute of Health Informatics

NIHI has a dominant focus on the problems and issues that are perceived as important by the health system and by private industry as it seeks to deliver the basis for products and services that are needed by the health system. NIHI serves as a co-ordinator and facilitator in fostering and developing initiatives in academia and industry dedicated to HI research and education.

Nova Scotia Nursing Informatics Special Interest Group

Associated with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia. Their mission is to promote the awareness of, and support for the advancement of nursing informatics education and practice in Nova Scotia.

Office of Health and the Information Highway, Health Canada

OHIH was created in the summer of 1997 as Health Canada's focal point for all matters concerning the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) in the health sector. The strategic orientations for OHIH are knowledge development, partnerships and collaboration, and federal policy development.

Office of Nursing Policy (ONP)

Established by the Minister of Health in 1999 to provide evidence-based nursing perspectives on a wide range of policy issues. The creation of ONP signalled that nursing and nurses' perspectives would be influential in shaping the future of health care in Canada - because optimal nursing care means improved health care and healthier Canadians.

Ontario Nursing Informatics Group (ONIG)

The Ontario Nursing Informatics Group (ONIG) purpose is to provide a forum for nursing professionals to communicate and disseminate current developments in health care information systems. ONIG currently has two chapters, ONIG-NCAN and the ONIG South chapter.

Online Journal of Nursing Informatics
The Online Journal of Nursing Informatics (OJNI) is a free, international, peer-reviewed publication that is published three times a year and supports all functional areas of nursing informatics. OJNI was launched in 1996, with readership spanning over 49 countries, and has been recently acquired by the HIMSS Foundation and the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community.

United Nurses of Alberta (UNA)
The union for more than 25,000 Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and allied workers in Alberta, representing nurses in bargaining, in their profession, and in disputes with employers and professional licensing bodies
